Cadence Review 1

Ekaterina Dumalkina

Hi, my name is Ekaterina Dumalkina. I'm studying for master's degree on the program of device and system design by Cadence, Institute of electronics and nanoelectronics. This program was developed in collaboration with American company Cadence design systems in 2002. The program provides basic training in areas such as semiconductor physics, circuit design, sequenced routing and processing. Also at this stage of training, we learn hardware description language such as Verilog. We have the opportunity to work in Cadence environment, we do a lot of different laboratory works. Electronic means are so much in today's world and the future relies on it, and I want to make my own contribution to the development of electronics.

I like this direction for several reasons. The first is I can combine the work and study because I have only three days for studying. The second reason is we have much time for practical classes in Cadence environment. And the third reason is that a large number of companies cooperate with our department and provide places for practice for all students in our field. I have been practicing for year in international company NXP Semiconductors in the development department of interface element libraries.

Our direction provides a wide range of activities. You come out as a really in demand specialist. A lot of companies are interested in graduates of our direction because after graduation we will get an international certificate by Cadence design systems. It is a huge plus in our CV and our careers.
